Journal Topic - Due: Friday, July 27

Now, you need to think about what message Howard Beale (the speaker)
is trying to tell. It's fairly obvious. What message did you take
away from this?

TV is bad for us. TV is not truth. It just show up stupid things.

Is this message more or less relevant today than 30 years ago when
this movie came out?

This message is more relevant today. TV station just wants to earn
lots of money from ad, so they just want to show up sensational things.

Is this a message for American audiences only, or is it a message that
could be spread in your home country? Why or why not?

Of course,it is a message that could be spread in my country, but
American audiences have more problems.

Does this make you want to see the movie, or does it just sound like
a boring old man trying to tell everyone how to live their life?

It is fun. I like ironical movie.

The Simpsons

1. Summarize the Simpsons episode.

One day, Lisa tried to solve puzzle. Everybody solved that puzzle
very easily except Lisa. Moreover, she forgot to do her project.
She worried that she would be stupid the same as her father. She
asked her grandpa, he said that she had the Simpsons genes, so she
would be stupid. She tried to get information from a doctor, but
she didn't get anything. She went to museum and jazz bar, and enjoyed
high culture. She went to TV station. She said that enjoy your brain.
Finally, she learned about the Simpson gene. Only "Y" chromosome is
problem.

2. Which is more important in human development of personality and
intellegence: genes or environment?

I think environment is more important in human development of
personality and intellegence.
